Aaawwwww… such a sweet vlog!
Love to see how happy this makes you Richard. If it makes you happy..it certainly makes us happy too
Can’t wait to see if anyone has any footage from the Dallas show! How awesome it sounded.
And Brazilian Vlogging!! Wow.. speachless.. Cannot wait for that!!
Ditto!!! LOVE that VLOG. It’s so awesome to see you excited and happy after a great show! I knew that was going to be a show to see! It had to be in Dallas, didn’t it? Way too far away.
Oh man! Hopefully footage gets posted from the show! Would love to see some clips….
Can’t wait to see you and Matt in Brazil! Have a safe trip!
Thank you for doing what you do and especially for LOVING what you do! I’m looking fwrd to your vlog from you and Matt in Brazil!! Have a fun and safe trip!!
I took my girlfriend and 16 year old daughter to your show last night in Dallas last night. My daughter and I are huge fans! Last night show rocked! We only wished you played more songs from your “Emotional Remains” cd but we absolutely loved “Through my veins” on the piano. GREAT GREAT cd!!!!
Its been 20 years since I’ve seen one of your shows live. I think the last show I saw was 1990 on your Repeat Offender tour at Fiddler’s Green in Denver, Colorado.
Richard, loved your show with the DSO. I went on a whim, thinking I’d enjoy hearing the songs that I enjoyed back in junior high, and I ended up having such a wonderful time. Thanks so much coming to Dallas and sharing your talent with us.
Sorry for yelling so loud when you mentioned Daniel Lanois.
Richard, I have never been to see you in concert, although I have been a fan since 1987. A few weeks ago I happened to be listening to one of your CDs from 1997 and was just awestruck and amazed at how beautiful the quality of your voice was; a day or two later I found out you were coming to Dallas to play with the DSO and didn’t wait a second to get my ticket. The two + hour drive to Dallas was well worth it, because to this day your voice remains the smoothst and most well-controlled of any singer I have heard. Looking at the audience around me I was really surprised to see so many dry eyes, because the emotion you convey with your voice just chokes me up many times. You did a wonderful job of entertaining us and thank you for stopping in Dallas, and thanks to Matt, too, because wow what a powerful voice he has!
I hope you both enjoy your time in Brazil and have a safe flight there. I have never been there but just know it is a beautiful land to be in.
Great vlog Richard, as usual… I’m so happy you had a good time in Dallas! I too hope to see some footage sometime in the near future… And I can’t wait to see you in Paris a the end of the year…
It is super to see you enjoy your work so very much! I was just so sorry to miss it! Thank God for those “red lights” out there! I really hope we get some footage!
Even though I wasn’t there, just hearing you talk about it so passionately is great.
Wish I could have been there though!
But I’m looking forward to your concerts in Europa and is there any chance of a gig in Holland as well……….?
My husband and I drove to Dallas yesterday from Houston for the concert last night. We had front row seats and the show was incredible. The emotion, the stories, the entire performance was just so awesome. We had such a great time. Just got back home now but I am still on my music high. Thank you so much. Be safe and have fun in Brazil.

I can’t believe it – You’ve planning to visit Russia??? OMG, When? I always loved Your music since those incredible tracks like “Angelia” and “Children of the Night”. And last 3 albums, especially “Emotional Remains” shows me how You grew up as a songwriter… How me grows since than, actually too
Please, come to Moscow with Your live show. You’ll love this city and these people!
this show must have been so amazing – i don’t think i’ve ever seen you so speechless about a performance. glad it went so well, and i wish i could’ve been there. perhaps this spells the beginning of more symphony shows? i know someone with the milwaukee symphony orchestra, and i would love another excuse to see them perform!
First off – SO uplifting to see how moved you were last night, and I’m so glad to know you felt the presence of your father through the music you created together.
Secondly – can I say: “I told you so” about the London thing?! Hah! How many years have we tried to convince you you’d get a great response to a show? If you need any further proof: bring earplugs ‘cos you’re going to get a lot of yells of appreciation
Seriously though, I can’t tell you how happy and excited we are to be welcoming you back after all these years, and although my seats are a bit pants, I’m already a grinning idiot at the through of seeing you here!
I hope you won’t mind, or be surprised if we manage to sidle down to the front/aisles at some point!
Fantastic Vlog, muchly looking forward to the tandem ones to come, and any others of course!
I was fortunate enough to be in the audience for this show, and I must say that is was an OMG experience for us too! I have been to many amazing concerts, but there was a special dynamic going on there that night that definitely had that “once-in-a lifetime” feel to it. Glad to hear how special it was for you. Thanks so much!
I loved the show you autopopup in Brazil in 06.12
Record a video talking about what he found and post it on your site so people know what you think.
Kisses we love you.
Hi, what a a great show! A month earlier, I had asked my wife to get me tickets for my Birthday, since Richard Marx was with the DSO! Richard has always seemed to write songs that have seemed to be written with relation to me. I guess that’s what makes him such a good song writer. So, to hear that he would be with the orchestra was something I really wanted to see. Three weeks passed by & it came to that week that he was supposed to be here. I reminded my wife how much I wanted to go. Now mind you , this was the only thing I asked for, so I was a little dissapointed when she told me that she had forgot. Well, lucky for us, it wasn’t advertised a whole bunch in Dallas. We were still able to get great seats in the Dress Circle on Tuesday night for $65 a piece. At first, I was a little upset that we weren’t on the floor, but I can’t complain, as we were closer than most people on the floor, just above the stage 20-25 ft. (just to the right or Richard & Matt’s left). There really isn’t a bad seat at the Myerson, but as the night grew on, I grew to love the seats in the dress circle box much more for the luxurious space & the acoustics. We were on the balcony with no one else in our box, so we were very comfortable. My wife & I are very passionate, and tend to be loud at sporting events, concerts, etc. At least we wouldn’t have to worry about someone next to us, or behind, if we stood or clapped too loud. Like Richard said, the acoustics were incredible! He was as awesome as we had hoped he would be, but more incredible was the dilect with the audience & he encouraged us to sing along & cheer him on. It was a great relationship with the croud that made it seem one-on-one. It was truly an impressive show. My wife & I had fun hanging with you & encouraging/letting us scream & cheer. I came to see Richard & knew how talented he was, but was very pleasantly surprised to hear Matt sing. Un”freaking” believable! He was great. I am not sure of the title, but I heard “We are” sang in the chorus several times. It was impressive not only how Matt’s voice sounded, but that Richard let him sing a whole song during his concert. I guess you’re not too narcisistic after all, Richard! I have a new desire to check out more Verticle Horizon & Matt’s solo albums. He was well worth an interuption of Richard.
Also, the song that Richard wrote for his father was very hard to keep tears from my eyes in rememberence of my own father who has passed on. “His blood runs through my veins” & although he’s gone, he lives on in me; by not only his memories, but everything that I am! ***RIP Ted F Carroll, Dad, I hope you & Dickie have met!*** I had never heard that song before & although I was am guilty of not buying any of his more recent albums, will definitely have to buy that one.
The whole show was great & it was great to actually feel like a part of a show. It was a remarkable venue that was nice to give Richard a warm, Texas welcome & enjoy singing along in that type of a venue. My wife & I love to scream & I am glad that you encouraged it. I know in that type of atmosphere, it can be hard to play acoustic with that much noise, but you did awesome. It was great show. I guess we might have had too much fun, but we only made you start over once. Sorry, but we love ya!
It was a great night of singing with the guys on the guitair & oh yeah, the orchestra! It was so much like playing with my friends in a band, when we play our favorite songs. The only thing that I would say that was missing from this concert was the “SAX”. Richard, dude! You have the best saxophone music in alot of your songs that should not be left out, especially when you are playing with an orchestra. Maybe it’s just the Billy (from ST Elmo’s Fire) in me, but your sax is bad ass! “Angelina”, “Remember Manhattan, & my personal favorite, “Heaven Only Knows” all have great sax! You still rock, but ask the wife see what she says. Hazard is my wife Katia’s favorite song!
All in all still an outstanding performance! It was an intimate relationship with the crowd and the perfect harmony of voice, gutairs, & symphany! It was all I asked for on my birthday, but definitely a night to remember. The only thing better, would be to jam out with Richard in my living room! I have drums & PA with mic set ups, if your ever back in Big D (I play drums & sing). It was so much like we had spent the evening with Richard Marx, I went ahead & spent the extra $25 to get the autographed Richard Marx, acoustic CD. Thanks for the show, from Big D ! – Ric
Richard I went to your Dallas show with my fiancee. To tell you the truth i wasnt really looking forward to it i am not the sappy music kind of guy. But your music to me sounded very genuine and from the heart. I really enjoyed the show, and i have been to many concerts and never seen the sencerity that i witnessed in you. What’s so scary about London? The Brits don’t generally bite – well, maybe the occasional nibble – and then only if you ask us nicely
I’ve got a couple of those elusive London tickets – see you there.
*trundles off singing ‘I’ll be there, when November falls…’
