Just viewed the video commentary you did on your first albums and posted to the website. Now I know why I liked the songs so much – didn’t realize that it was Mike Landau adding the guitar parts. Of course, he’s a monster player – right up there with Lukather, Carlton, et al. I’m a player myself and always have an ear out for great guitar parts – which are in abundance in those songs. As someone who was more into heavier rock, I always felt a bit guilty about liking the songs (ESN, SKB and the rest) – of course, they *are* great songs – very well crafted – but knowing that it was Mike’s guitar parts . . .

Love your music! Been a fan since the late 80’s. Anyway… was watching Dirty Dancing with my daughter today and looked up characters from the movie to include your wife. Always wondered why I haven’t seen her since that movie. Very amazing that she quit her career and replaced it with family which is extremely admirable!!! How awesome that you two are together still! Then of course I looked you up and found this website. Your vlog is great! I was excited to see 2 songs for free download. I love Out of My System. Since Our Last Goodbye is good too. I think the System one is better tho, befits your voice and style that I’ve come to know of you. And tho my opinion isn’t squat I’m gonna give it to you anyway lol… I love your song writing ability and your way of tying the lyrics into the musical is phenominal but your voice doesn’t roll well throughout the Last Goodbye song. I mean I love the melody and sometimes your voice was perfect for it but then others and sorry if this is rude well just seemed like a song that should be on the radio but perhaps another artist singing it. It’s such a lovely song with the lyrics and melody I just thought it sounded off. The beginning doesn’t even sound like you. It’s sorta nasally. lol My daughter says I’m soooo rude LOL. I don’t mean to be. lol I’m just blunt and I’d love to hear this song on the radio! The part where you sing “black and white” is SO great with your voice tho… perfect!

I actually went to Vegas for the first time a couple years ago just to see you, so thanks for giving me an excuse to go there. Great city. You seem like you’re just a normal guy. My question is, when you first hit it big, did you have any problems keeping yourself from getting caught up in the “rock n roll” lifestyle? Thanks Richard!! Go Cubs!!
As far as acting you forgot to mention “Coach of the Year,” a TV movie from the early ’80’s in which you DID have a small roll. Your character’s name was Richard Marx. Why didn’t you mention that? Unless you want to forget about it.
P.S. I was at that Duo show at the Wildhorse Saloon & you only screwed up twice. You didn’t forget the words you just started singing the wrong verse. It was still a great show & I got to meet you backstage, but I was so drunk I don’t remember much of it.
