    Hi Richard,

  3. Andy says:

I know how you feel about “Sir Paul”, Richard that was how I felt when I met you in Las Vegas in 2009 @ Aliante Hotel with my wife Susan. “Speachless” you are the great one.
Enjoy the rest of your summer and I am looking forward to seeing you in Hamburg & London in November.

    Take care

    Andy

  4. Sarah says:

Richard…you are just too cute !!! Love the way you tell us your stories. Dont beat yourself up over your meeting with Sir Paul…Im sure it really isnt as bad as you think…Yes, he is great, but you are great too….
Glad you checked in with us …

    Sarah

  5. Cristiana says:

Why Richard? This is what I can not understand. Because in my opinion, your artistic career is as prodigious as his, not to mention your talent and your amazing voice. And do not say that subjective thinking, because I love the Beatles, Wings and everything he wrote later. Sir Paul is a music major name, but I think you can easily be put on the same level. Next time will be better.Good luck from Romania.

    Cristiana,

Great vlog as usual. Funny, funny stuff. Loved the Chris Farley clip and your face at the end of it. And I’m sure the meeting with Paul wasn’t that bad either. I mean.. you’re Richard Marx!! Thats gotta mean something to him :) Means a heap to us.
I bet he’s just ‘vlogged’ about meeting you and how he stuffed it up too lmao. Now that’d be funny.
    Thanks for the update Richard.

  7. Jennifer L. says:

Could you come to Florida PLEASE!!! You go all over the world, but Florida. Do you have something against us? lol Anyway would love to see one of your shows. My husband is a big fan also.

  8. Stabler says:

Richard, let me assure you – You are every bit as great as Paul McCartney. As a vocalist you are probably a hell of a lot better. I cannot believe how modest you are sometimes! Keep making albums. Cheers.

  9. Nayda says:

We are doing a fund raiser in October, it would be great if you would come.

    Blessings

Hi Richard! Nice to hear you have not lost your sense of humor. :-) Don’t know if you remember me, I was once the fiance of Bob Bock (your illustrious former tour manager). Just wanted to say hello after all these years. If you get down to the San Antonio area, I would like to see you play again and maybe say hello in person. BTW..I noticed you will be playing in Vejle, Denmark. I used to live there in the 90′s. My daughter was born there as well. Nice little Danish town. Have a good tour!
    Take care,
    Kendra

  17. CT2010 says:

Don’t worry about it, I think the meeting went well. And as your friend said, maybe in a 2 or 3 years you’ll meet him again and… :)
But until then, can’t wait for the concert in ROMANIA !!!

  18. JackieS says:

I can so appreciate the feeling of being ‘star struck and in awe’ at your brush with greatness. Meeting Sir Paul would be a dream! Getting to see you tonight @ Fraze in Dayton – super psyched! Back in the early 90′s I camped out in line (@ 2:30 a.m.) for tickets @ Hara Arena in Dayton. Got 6th row tix – and it was tremendously sweet! I’ll never forget the ‘Elvis had a stinky butt’ T-shirt you wore about mid set. It put EVERYTHING related to celebraties in perspective for me. By the way, I’m sure Sir Paul has……just sayin’. Thanks for the years of happiness you have brought to all your true fans!!!

    Richard-
OMG- loved the McCartney story! Thanks for being such a normal person. Thanks for blogging!

  21. Sherry says:

Last night I had the honor of being at your concert in Kettering, Ohio. Its funny how it happened. A few months ago I heard one of your songs on the radio and wondered whatever happened to you. You see, my daughter Katie was born in 1984 and grew up loving all your songs. She had every cd you did. So I looked online to see what you’ve been up to and found out you were doing a concert 12 miles from my sisters house. So I immediently got tickets for myself and Katie. Last night was the show. Katie went into it like, Mom, I liked him growing up but now I’m more into rap. She went to please me and by the end of the concert she was screaming “I love you Richard”! It was a great show. Your voice is as strong as ever and you seem very nice and funny. Thank you for the chance to see you. By the way, we were in the 10th row. Great seats

  22. Kira says:

Just went to your charity concert at the Fraze in Kettering, Ohio. Saw this video earlier in the day and was telling my Mom about it then you told it that night, great stuff!! Loved the new “Liberate Me” song, I feel that exact way now. Is that going to be recorded and out anytime soon, LOVED it.

  23. Greg says:

Hell’a Funny! I guess I now know that I must prepare myself for someday if I ever were to me you Richard. Then again, you are up there with Cole Porter, McCartney, Mozart and others as the Greatest Songwriters of All Time in my book!!!……. i’d probably crumble also. Keep the songs coming!!! What’s the weather like in Paris in November? Would like to go back to Paris again with an added bonus to see you in concert!

  24. Cheryl says:

Richard, I drove 8 hours to see you perform at the Fraze. I’ve been to 6 of your shows in the past year – including the Duo shows.
This was such an amazing evening. I won your CD and DVD with Kenny Loggins thru the Auction. It was worth every penny. Can’t wait to see you again soon. Love you and your music.

    Cheryl

  25. Sarah says:

Hello Richard! I also saw you at the Fraze and LOVED your show! You always sound incredible! Esp. enjoyed your acoustic version of “Keep Coming Back”!..one of my all-time favs. However, I had the great privilege of seeing you and the band preform last January with the Toledo Symphony Orchestra!!!…and have to say that was a once in a lifetime thrill that I will never forget! Your sound combined with the rich wonderful symphony was absolutely freakin’ amazing!(if you don’t mind my saying so! :-)

Best regards…and thanks for all the wonderful music!

  26. Ken says:

    Hey,

It’s funny when someone like yourself mentions meeting greatness in Paul McCartney, with due respect to him, i personally see you as much more. No i’m not a crazed stalker or the like just a normal guy who grew up loving your music. Now getting to the point. I looked at your tours and to my horror didn’t see any to Australia ! For the love of god get yourself here before i and many others are forced to become one of those stalker people we all read about…Lol

Take it easy Richard and thanks for the memories !

p.s In the meantime we will all prey for you to come over here :P

  27. Dave says:

umm what happened to your hair?? Just kidding! Good to see you’re still around and I’ve been hearing Now and Forever on XM radio a lot.

  28. Missy says:

Richard….when I first met you, I froze too. So now you know how that is. :)

  29. Roger says:

    Richard,

Thought I check in to see if you’d be stopping by the west coast during your upcoming tour (i.e. – I’ve lived in Irvine, CA for 5 years now, enjoyed the charity work that I had the pleasure to first ever see you perform.

On the east coast, I subbed info some years with Frank Gorshin. Lou Rawls, Bobby Rydell, etc… and a thousand local and regional bands through the years and never was able to see you do your thing.

Then I moved to California and saw you twice, the Galaxy in Santa Ana & The Coach House in San Juan. Totally enjoy your stories and melodies.

Thanks for all the year of great music, Roger.

  30. Jonny O says:

Hey Richard, I’ve been a fan for a long time. I’m also a Chicago boy, in Vegas now. Enjoyed your Vlog, and one day also hope to freeze up meeting Sir Paul. I’m sure you were not as bad as you thought.
Don’t know if you read these, but if your ever in Vegas, and want to be on a low budget internet radio show, contact me!( email is in the reply!)
LOL Well was worth a try right??
And I swear I’m not baking cookies!
Sincerely, thanks for all the great music! One of my dreams would be to write a song with you.
    Take Care
    Jonny

  31. Jeff says:

had to look you up to see how your doing, I was watching this interview & questions video with John Mayer, this girl asked him if he writes his own songs – John said : This guy writes them for me – his name is Richard Marx, John said that you sent him a song, he said you do two things when Richard sends you a song, that is: You call him back and say yes, I thought that was cool.

Richard – People want to ride with you in the limo, but what you want is someone who will take the bus with you when the limo breaks down – The Quote Garden!
