A Night With Ringo

July 8th, 2010

Just sat in with Ringo at Radio City in NYC. It’s his 70th birthday so I wouldn’t have missed it.
I sang backup on “With A Little Help From My Friends” along with Billy Squier and Colin Hay and many others. That’s always the last song of every show.

But not tonight.

The lights stayed down a few more minutes…the band took the stage…and ….Paul McCartney walked out. They did “Birthday” and it was like it was 1966 all over again.

None of us there will ever forget it.

Holy shit….

5 – Endless Summer Nights
Richard Marx
1988
“Endless Summer Nights” finds Richard Marx waxing hopeful about a summer fling he wants to develop into more, despite his girl’s resistance. This ballad must’ve done the trick, because he later married the woman he was on vacation with when he was inspired to write the song. “Endless Summer Nights” reached No. 2 on the Billboard charts in 1988.

Richard Marx Meets Jamie Kaler

Richard says, “I thought Jamie kicked ass that night. Really, really funny stuff. I’m psyched we got to meet.”
