It's been awhile since I blogged, and even longer since I did a written one. I know some of you, though you may be VERY small in number, prefer the written ones, so this is for you.

Plus...I'm having a bad hair day.

Just some random musings......

The Cubs got swept by the Dodgers in the first round of playoffs after an absolutely stunning season of great playing. I read in the paper that before Game 1 against LA, a priest came into the Cubs' dugout and spread Holy Water in an attempt to remove any "curse." So let me tell you how this is going to go: a frighteningly large number of adults, mostly men who drink too much beer and eat lots of cheese, will emphatically blame the priest for ruining the Cubs shot at a World Series. It's always some "outside influence." A goat. A fan reaching out for a foul ball. It's never the team.
Now, here's the real deal: the Cubs could have a team made up of Manny Ramirez, Albert Pujols, Alex Rodriguez and even Cal Ripken, Jr., and Barry Bonds in their prime......and they could go undefeated in 162 regular season games.....and come playoff time, they'd cave under the mental pressure worse than our current economy.

The Cubs will never...ever.....win a World Series again. We all need to get right with it, and just enjoy the day at the ballpark.

Just got back from a couple days on the road with Scannell. Sooooo much fun. Show day in Ridgefield, Ct. was one of the greatest days I've had in a long time. Deeply beautiful surroundings, and the audience that night was a gleaming example of why we have the greatest job in the world. We drove the next day to Londonderry, NH for another really fun night of playing music for a warm and receptive audience. What an incredible weekend.

Tomorrow I'm recording with a Canadian singer named Crystal Shawanda. She's singing a duet on the album I produced for George Canyon. It's a song I wrote with George that we think is really special called "In Your Arms." The cool thing is that there's very little wait to hear the album. Should be out next month.

What else.......the new Nickelback single kicks ass. Yeah, it's poppy...but trust me...the album's going to rock hard, and this song is so well crafted and fun to listen to and sing along with. Chad Kroeger sings great, and he's a good dude. We actually wrote a song together for George Canyon's album.

I'm totally into my new TV season. Dexter, E.R. (what a frickin' HEARTBREAKING first episode!!), and I can't wait for 30 Rock. Tina Fey is a genius. And I'm fired up to see the new James Bond movie, as well as "Frost/Nixon" and "Milk" which both look pretty interesting.

My next blog will be video and I'll try to remember to tell you about some new music I'm into. Gonna go get some reading/chill time in now. My friend gave me a copy of a weekly news magazine called "The Week." Totally into it. So far, I think it's the least biased news coverage I've seen in about 20 years.

New Section & Album Commentaries

I'm really excited to reveal the newest section of my site. On the "Artist" page I'll be revealing a new album each week and there will be video commentary for a few tracks and written commentary for the rest. This week I've added my debut self-titled album.
